Description
Stress and flexibility analysis of a carbon steel, bromine vapor jacketed, glass lined piping system, running from a bromine vaporizer to tie-in points on an existing line. The analysis confirmed full compliance with ASME B31.3 allowable stress criteria, with the highest code stress reaching 38.1% under the sustained load case, and no need for changes to the piping layout. Nozzle loads at the connected equipment were verified within acceptable limits after adjusting pipe restraints, with a specific support upgrade recommended at one critical node. This study ensured the mechanical integrity of a specialized jacketed, glass lined system handling a corrosive process fluid, while providing practical guidance for the final support arrangement prior to construction.
