Description
A nozzle loads analysis for a S&T heat exchanger was performed by means of FEA, with the aim of obtaining the stress level induced in the nozzle-to-shell joint. A standard tee was used to connect the shell to the flange. The entire item was modeled to determine the global stress state, next, the stresses around the nozzle were evaluated. The analysis was carried out according to the ASME VIII Div.2 Code, Part 5.
The technical report includes the design conditions, results and recommendations.
