Due to corrosion problems in an existing equipment, its replacement with a spare exchanger of similar dimensions was evaluated. Both exchangers were of different dimensions and had different transfer areas.
Thus, the purpose of the analysis was to check the validity of the equipment as a possible replacement. The spare equipment was thermally verified for the application under study, by means of thermal simulations and mass balance of the system.
