The project consisted of the mechanical design, static calculation and fatigue analysis of two (2) shell and tube heat exchangers for an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading unit). The analysis of all components was carried out, determining the stress state and required thicknesses.

Due to the high loads on the nozzles, a fatigue analysis was performed to determine the stress state of the nozzle-to-shell joint. Calculations were carried out as per the TEMA + ASME VIII Div.1 & Div.2 codes.
