Description
The evaluation of two different solutions for a 180º curve replacement was carried out by means of FEA. One of the solutions was to replace it with 2 short radius elbows and a spool, and the other one, with 2 long radius elbows.
The first part of the project consisted in selecting the best option for replacement through a finite element analysis, performed under a creep model. Finally, a fatigue analysis was carried out to determine if the solution could be considered a permanent solution.
