The evaluation of the possible causes of the collapse of the floating roof of a tank designed and manufactured according to the API 650 code was carried out.
Tank characteristics: 20m diameter and 20m height, A-283 Gr.C material and Naphtha/Kerosene product.
An on-site inspection was carried out and then the causes that have historically caused the sinking of a tank were analyzed to determine the causes of this particular case.
