Description
The objective of this project was to verify two components of a vertical pressure vessel. The jacket had a discontinuity where there was a pipe with a blind flange, so that part was not in contact with the thermal oil. To seal that part, the blind flange was removed, a stop was welded directly onto the flange, and then the area was covered with a head that reached the jacket.
Both the blind disc and the semi-elliptical head were verified according to the ASME Section VIII Div. 1 code by using the PVElite program.
